Good Morning “Those Who Submit to His Lordship.” Today we are in Psalm 24.
“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.” Psalms 24:1-2 NIV
It doesn’t get much more simple and straight forward than that. It’s ALL, we’re ALL - His. He is Lord of ALL (Acts 10:36b). EVERYONE will one day submit to His Lordship one way or another (Philippians 2:10-11, Romans 14:11).
We can do this the easy way… or the hard way. He lets us choose. I’ve often said, “If the first time we submit to Him is when we stand before Him in judgment… it’s too late.” Make no mistake though… it WILL happen.
Why not choose the easy way… it is the narrower road, but well worth any struggle that may come (Matthew 7:14, John 16:33). Living for Jesus will come with challenges… but the rewards both in this life and the next by far outweigh any trouble. Check out Paul’s Words - “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18 Also check out 2 Corinthians 4:17-18. Paul understood- compared to an eternity without Jesus - everything else is light.
If you want to get a look at what Paul considered light and momentary afflictions check out 2 Corinthians 11:21-30.
So…
“Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place?” Psalms 24:3 NIV
“The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.” Psalms 24:4 NIV
Only through Jesus is this possible (1 John 1:9, Roman’s 10:9, Romans 8:1, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5, Philippians 1:6)
Love you all! Dig in!
