Job 42

Good Morning “Those Who Reflect Gods Plan.”  Today we wrap up Job with chapter 42.

Job has been through it, no doubt.  Today we see Job humbly falling on His face before God as he realizes how wrong he was to question Him.  “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God not only forgives but He restores Job.  “… If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve me; if you utter worthy, not worthless, words, you will be my spokesman.” Jeremiah‬ ‭15‬:‭19‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God then goes on to rebuke Jobs friends and instruct them to bring sacrifices and have Job pray for them.  I’d like to back up though, and focus on a little tidbit back in verse 3.  After God rebukes Job, Job responds…

“I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted. You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’ Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know.”
‭‭Job‬ ‭42‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I want to focus on this question… “Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?”.  Definition of Obscure: keep from being seen; conceal.
"gray clouds obscure the sun".

Yet another reason why we as Christs Ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20), must know His Word, and be familiar with His Ways (as much as humanly possible), so that - when we speak and act we are reflecting His plan instead of obscuring it.  We are His ambassadors as though He is making His plea through us.  We truly may be the only Jesus people see.  If, because we are weak in knowledge and thus wisdom, we obscure His plan rather than shine light on it - we present to “the people” an inaccurate view of God and His love and grace.  That’s HUGE!  That’s what Job and his friends did.

We have an advantage over Job in that if we “know” Jesus - His Holy Spirit dwells in us.  We have an opportunity to truly KNOW Him intimately.  Through The Spirit we can recognize Him working in, through and around us in a way Job perhaps didn’t.

“My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.”
‭‭Job‬ ‭42‬:‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬.

How about you?  Where do you “see” Him?  Are you dialed in with Him to the point that you reflect, reinforce, shine light on his plan?  Or… as people look on, do you obscure it? (Matthew 5:14-16, 2 Corinthians 3:18)

Love you all!  Dig in!
