Psalm 2

Good Morning “Those Who Take Refuge In Him.”  Today we are in Psalm 2.

If we’ve learned anything from reading through The Old Testament, we’ve learned God is in control.  Kings rise and Kings fall by His hand (Romans 13:1-7).  He moves them where He wants them to go to accomplish His purposes (Proverbs 21:1).  Sometimes the nation has positioned themselves for blessing, sometimes they need discipline.  Rulers are His instrument for both.

The sinfulness of man, their flesh, causes Kings to rebel against God.  To seek honor, power and wealth that is not theirs to seek.  In that - they plot against Him.  Understand, God is not impressed, nor is He challenged.

“The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed, saying, “Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.” The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.” Psalms‬ ‭2‬:‭2‬-‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It matters who we choose to lead us.  As the King goes, so goes the people.  Israel was led into both blessing and cursing by her kings (2 Chronicles 12:1).

There is ONE True King, King Jesus “I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.” Psalms‬ ‭2‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

All Glory, Honor and Power is His (Revelation 4:11).  We ALL ought bow ONLY to Him.  If that’s true of us, then we ought ONLY desire the same of those who lead us.

“… Blessed are all who take refuge in Him.” Psalms‬ ‭2‬:‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Love you all!  Dig in!
