Psalm 67

Good Morning “Glowing Faces”.  Today we are in Psalm 67.

Today’s Psalm carry’s the same theme as Psalm 66 yesterday.  God wants the nations, ALL the nations,  to know Him… and He wants His people to show them how they can.   It all began with Israel.  They were each to reflect The Love of God to those around them so that foreigners would see the difference and choose life with God rather than their Pagan ways. The expectation is the same for us today (Galatians 3:28-29).

The Psalmist begins with part of the Aaronic blessing, which God gave through Moses in order to bless the children of Israel.

“May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us” (but then he continues with the reason he’s asking) “so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭67‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When Moses came down off the mountain with the 10 Commandments, his face was radiant - because he had been in the presence of The Lord.  This was a real thing!  In fact once he realized it, he veiled his face so that the people wouldn’t notice it fading… until he could once again be in The Lords presence (Exodus 34:29-35).

There’s something to this for the believer in Christ who now has God Himself (The Holy Spirit) in them (2 Corinthians 3:7-18).

Moses knew he needed continual communion with God to keep shining.  The same is true for us.  As we embrace the things of the world instead of the things of God, we veil His light in us.  As we press into God and are dialed with Him, His light shines through us too.  We like Moses must be in continual communion with Him.  Light draws people in!  We literally ought to be shinning… that’s what people subconsciously perceive!  We look different.  They don’t realize it but are drawn to it!  Then we point them to Jesus!

Gives whole new meaning to “let your light shine” (Matthew 5:16) - doesn’t it?

Love you all!  Dig in!
