Good Morning “Surveyors of All You Have.” Today we are in Psalm 43.
If I was to challenge you to survey all that you have… where would you start? What tops your list? What is left off?
Is The Father, The Son, or The Holy Spirit on your list? Is your list filled with Holy Righteous things / people, or with stuff? Truly most all is temporal, here today gone tomorrow (Matthew 6:19-21).
An interesting thing happens when a college student moves out - away from home. Their parents and others that have help raised them get smarter. They begin to realize at a very real level that mom and dad knew what they were talking about.
What’s more, in the absence of the comfort of their own home, friends, family, finances… they realize at a new level just how essential their relationship with God really is. Then begins the process of realizing God is enough! He’s all we need. Truth is, we never REALLY realize He’s all we need until He’s all we have.
We’ve witnessed this depth of faith in some that we’ve met, ministered to, and with - in 3rd and 4th world countries. We usually leave with a wake up call. Their faith is so much stronger than ours. Our “stuff”, and prosperity in our nation, helps us “feel” self sufficient. “We don’t NEED Him like they do.” The reality that it’s ALL by His hand, and He is ALL we need, is veiled by our “blessed” ability to provide and care for ourselves.
Truth… We have no ability. In Him we have EVERYTHING (Philippians 4:19) - even breath (Acts 17:25). He is our Savior, provider, sustainer, comforter, teacher, protector, defender, advocate - and more (Psalm 23:1)
When the devil stands accusing (Revelation 12:10), Jesus stands defending (1 John 2:1, 1 Timothy 2:5-7).
“You are my strength when I am weak
You are the treasure that I seek
You are my all in all”… sing it with me, come on!
Love you all! Dig in!
