Good Morning “Totally Dependent.” Today we are in Psalm 16.
David praises The Lord. For what? It appears like everything. Get a load of David’s words and the depth of his acknowledgement of all that God is. Herein we get a taste of the heart of “The Man After Gods Own Heart”.
“Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.”
Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure.”
Psalms 16:1-2, 5 NIV
David “Got It”. He’s EVERYTHING for us as well. I must confess, at times I don’t know if my prayers of praise carry the depth of David’s. I’m convicted. Through Jesus we have our very existence. We are TOTALLY dependent on Him.
He is our Creator (John 1:1-5).
He is our Savior and Redeemer (John 3:16, Ephesians 1:7)
He is our Provider and Sustainer (Matthew 6:25-33, John 14:27).
He is our Shield, and Protector, NOTHING can separate us from Jesus (Romans 8:35-39, 2 Thessalonians 3:3)
He is our Example to follow, our Teacher, Advocate and Friend (1 Peter 1:16, 1 Peter 2:1-7, James 2:23).
He is our Comforter, our love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
I could keep going, and going. I encourage you to - daily. In short He is our EVERYTHING! How often do we, like David acknowledge That Truth?
Love you all! Dig in!
