2 Corinthians 7

Good Morning “Repenters of Sin”.  Check out 2 Corinthians 7 today.

Paul’s letters to the Corinthians came hard and blunt - In their face.  Paul called our their sin and rebuked the ways they had gotten off track.

Paul makes clear that His reason for writing was their well being.  He’s saddened that his writing brought them sorrow but it brought about true repentance which brings him joy.

“Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret it—I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while— yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭7‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

No one likes rebuke.  The Truth sometimes hurts and that’s ok.  Sometimes we just need to be told to STOP.  Once in a while a knucklehead just needs to be told they’re being a knucklehead.  Holding one another accountable is a sensitive, difficult thing because defensiveness is almost always the response.  Nevertheless we are expected to hold one another accountable.  We’re also expected to receive rebuke with a humble, thankful heart!  We’re all in this together.

Love you all!  Dig in for yourselves and let The Spirit use The Words of Scripture to convict.  Then you won’t have to receive a letter like Paul’s… ha ha.
