2 Corinthians 6

Good Morning “Evenly Yoked”.  Let’s dig into 2 Corinthians 6.

Remember 1 Corinthians 15:33… “Don’t be deceived bad company corrupts good intentions / morals.”  It matters who we spend our time with and what we spend our time doing.  It has an effect on us… believe it or not, it just is!

In this chapter Paul revisits this concept with a warning.  Who we marry, unite, even join together with in business matters.

“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

He is NOT saying have no relationship with, but do not be “yoked” or tied to… On the surface that seems kinda separatist, but stop and consider this.  How can two or more people ever possibly agree on decisions, policies etc when they are not looking at things from the same perspective.  How can agreement to do things Gods way be reached if God is not the foundation?  If we are to be Salt and Light, a preservative of the things of God, but are easily corrupted - then being yoked with an unbeliever is a recipe for disaster.

Additionally think about this… God may choose to bring the unbeliever to their knees, that they might look to Him for salvation.  If you’re yoked together, guess what?  You’re along for the ride.

Love you all!  Dig in!
