What are you building your foundation on? Paul starts by reprimanding the Corinthians - they are still worldly. Speaking of their spiritual maturity and ability to digest the things of God he says he’s only able to give them milk to eat. They still aren’t ready for solid food. They are worldly. They’ve built a foundation on worldly things - not Jesus. They barely understand the things of God.
“For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work.” 1 Corinthians 3:11-13
All of these things will burn up, but a foundation built on Jesus will endure!
Build your Spiritual Foundation on Jesus! Be taught by the Holy Spirit through the Word of God! That’s the Good stuff! The Word of God taught by The Spirit of God is the only thing capable of molding and making you into what God wants you to be.
