1 Corinthians 2

Good Morning “Holy Spirit Minded”.  Check out 1 Corinthians 2 today.

Paul is trying to help the church in Corinth to understand that it is The Holy Spirit that reveals Gods will to us.  How can we see things the way God sees them?  He lives in us.  It is the Spirit that guides, directs and teaches.  It is the Spirit that knows our hearts and convicts.

“For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬-‭13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

So what’s the problem.  Why aren’t we totally dialed in by The Holy Spirit - why don’t we perfectly reflect the mind and heart of God?  Check our Paul’s charge, then warning to the Thessalonians.

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬-‭19 NIV‬‬

Did you catch that last verse?  Through The Holy Spirit in us we can choose joy no matter the circumstances.  At the same time, we can also choose to quench, “silence”, The Holy Spirit when we “choose” our flesh, or the thoughts / ideas of the world.     He is in us, and wants to guide, lead, and direct us.  He wants to shine through us.  But, when we choose contrary to His Word, we quench Him, silence Him.  He’s a gentleman… He doesn’t force - we choose.

When we seek Him and His wisdom we will find Him.

Love you all!  Dig in seek Him through His Word.
