Peter and the Disciples are getting after it - just as Jesus instructed in Acts 1:8, Matthew 28:18-20.
“Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.””
Acts 3:6
They were healing people and giving God ALL the Glory! “Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?” Acts 3:12
There’s more, they weren’t just performing miracles. With the overflowing love of Jesus they were able to share with everyone, including the very ones that cried out “crucify Him.”
They had become close with Jesus - they were buds! Surely it was hard not to harbor resentment for these people.
“You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this. “Now, fellow Israelites, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders. But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, saying that his Messiah would suffer. Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,”
Acts 3:14-15, 17-19
Many act in ignorance! The message is still the same. How’s your love level? Do we care enough to share the saving Love and Grace of Jesus? Remember - the Holy Spirit does the work. We’re just a mouthpiece.
