Good Morning Users of the Gifts God has Given! Take a look at Luke 19.
In this chapter Luke includes the Parable of Ten Minas as told by Jesus. The parable describes a future King who has to go away to a far off land. He leaves 10 servants each in charge of a sum of money and instructs them to put their money to work. When he returns he finds some who increased the money he had given them and one in particular that protected it and kept it safe, but did not increase it. With this one He is furious.
What on earth is Jesus talking about here? This is simply a parable describing His expectation of us. Ephesians 2:10 reminds us, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” He puts us where He wants us and equips us with talents, and gifts to accomplish the work He prepared for us. 1 Cor. 12
So simply put, He gives us all we need and simply expects us to use it for the furtherance of The Kingdom. How blessed will we be in heaven? What have we done with what He has blessed us with? That’s the question.
Salvation is a free gift to be sure… but His mercy and Grace does come with expectation. Expectation that we’ll grow up and be productive for Him. It all starts with the growing up part.
Dig in! Get to know Him through His Word! Love you all!
