Luke 13

Good Morning Narrow Door Enterers.  Today we dig into Luke 13

Jesus continues to spread The Word!  Repent and turn to God for the Kingdom of God is near.  Using parables He explains the incredible spreading of the Gospel.  The Good News spread fast.  Jesus was on the scene and about to go to the Cross, suffer, and die in our place.  Our sin requires a payment that must be paid.  Even if for all eternity it could never be satisfied by us.  Jesus paid that price.  Receiving His payment made for us, acknowledging, receiving Him, and repenting of our sin is the only way into heaven… period.  It begins with humbly admitting we need saving.  We CAN’T do it on our own.  Heaven isn’t universal - wanting to go there simply isn’t enough.  Knowledge of Jesus isn’t BELIEF.  True BELIEF results in action.  Our good works can’t save us, but they do demonstrate we’re saved.  If we BELIEVE we should look like it.

“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ “But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’” Luke‬ ‭13‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We cannot be “good enough”! “Better than the next guy” doesn’t cut it.  Even obeying the Bible and observing ordinances alone gets you nothing!  That was what the Pharisees were all about.  These are the Words of Jesus - He was reminding those around Him that following Him was the only way through the gate.  He was and is broken hearted over those that don’t “get it”.

Dig in!  Know Him!  The gate is narrow, but not impossible to get through!  Everything is possible through Jesus.

Love you all!
