Good Morning “Blessed to be Invited to Approach God.” Today we are in Job 23.
Job desired to dialogue with God the Father. He wonders why? Likely we would wonder the same. If we’re honest, we do - each time we hit a bump in the road. Why God? What did I do to deserve this?
This is review for most of you following along…
The Holy of Holies, or the Inner Room of The Temple was where the High Priest approached God. It was there that he did business on behalf of the people.
When Jesus paid the price for all sin… the curtain, or veil that separated that place was torn - destroyed. The significance of that act is exactly what Job longs for.
No longer do we approach God through the High Priest. In fact Hebrews 4:15-16 says “… we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:15-16 NIV
Job desired access to Gods Grace. If you know the rest of the story you know Job will get his wish. As much as Job is a story of Gods Glory displayed through Job as he suffers, it’s also a story of Gods Grace as He restores.
We’ll get there soon enough. In the meantime know He’s there… He will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5), and invites you to reach out for Him.
“For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. …” 1 Timothy 2:5-6 NIV
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 NIV
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV
Love you all! Dig in!
