Job 19

Good Morning “Yearners For The Savior.”  Today we are in Job 19.

Jobs lament continues with a recounting of all that he has lost, and how bad his health has become.  This passage is similar in some ways to the words of Isaiah, as in Isaiah chapter 53, as he prophesies regarding Jesus.  Job is a type of Jesus but with some differences.  Job suffered, Jesus suffered . . Some of the suffering was similar, much was not.  Job was rebuked for some of his responses, Jesus was not.  Both were despised, stricken, and abandoned by those they love.  Yet both remained submitted and obedient to The Father.

In his suffering Job surely yearns for relief, but more than that he yearns to be with his Lord.

“Oh, that my words were recorded, that they were written on a scroll, that they were inscribed with an iron tool on lead, or engraved in rock forever! (Job got his wish) I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!”
‭‭Job‬ ‭19‬:‭23‬-‭27‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Oh that we might yearn for our Savior everyday in blessing and in suffering.  Oh that our hope of future Glory might drive our hearts and attitude - that we might be people who love like Jesus loved!  “We love because he first loved us.” 1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭19‬ ‭NIV‬‬  Truly apart from Him there is no love.  We love as His love overflows through us (1 John 4:8). It’s a love that can sustain us through ALL things (Psalm 54:4).

Love you all!  Dig in!
