Exodus 30

Good Morning “Worshipers.”  Today we are in Exodus 30.

As we finish the description of the Tabernacle, its elements and the worship process we’re reminded it all pictures Christ and our relationship with Him Heb 10:1.

The Alter of Incense was placed just outside the Holy of Holies.  As the High Priest burnt incense, the smoke would carry through the curtains.  It’s representative of his work to carry the prayers of the people . It’s the intercession of our High Priest, Jesus and His work on the cross, that makes it possible for our prayers to be carried to The Father.

The construction of the Tabernacle began with a collection of offerings representing Gods goodness to the people.  At the close of its construction a temple tax will be instituted.  Each time a census is taken they will give a meager amount, for the upkeep of the tabernacle - thus insuring they will have a place to make atonement for their sin.  It was by the tax they were counted as Gods people.  It was their ransom so to speak.  Jesus made atonement for all our sins.  He paid our ransom in full.  We count ourselves one of Gods people when we confess Jesus as our Lord and Savior and accept His payment for our sins.

The wash basin was essential for the Priests to stay alive.  They must properly wash before entering in worship / fellowship God.  We too are unable to worship or fellowship with God without being washed of our sin.  Titus 3:5 reminds us The Holy Spirit does that work.

The Priests and all of the elements had to be anointed for Godly service.  The oil was their instrument.  We too, as The Priesthood are anointed for service, but by The Holy Spirit.  The Spiritual Gifts we receive are evidence of that anointing.  This anointing oil could not be counterfeited or replicated by men.  They would be cut off from the Nation.  We have a world full of counterfeits, claiming power to anoint.  True anointing only comes by the Holy Spirit.  Luke 3:21-22, Acts 8:18-21.

Even the furniture in the Tabernacle was arranged to reflect the saving work of Jesus.  The arrangement forms a cross.  All intentional.  All about Jesus.  From beginning to end The Word of God is all about Jesus.

Love you all!  Dig in.
