Good Morning “One Way Receivers.” Today we are in Exodus 25.
Imagine living as the nation of Israel. Trembling in fear, you have now received the Law and with it the Covenant. You’ve also agreed to it. Meaning this… should you break any of the law, you die. Oh you are going to sin… so God provides a place and a system that when you do sin, you can make atonement for your sin. In this way your faith will be demonstrated. Notice first came The Law, then the agreement (Covenant), then a provision for when The Law is broken. It was an eventual certainty. In this chapter God begins to give instruction regarding the designing and building of a ceremonial place, and elements, to do all this.
This place, the Tabernacle, will be built with the wealth of the people, as they bring it as an offering. He gave it all to them anyway… remember when they peacefully plundered Egypt as they were leaving - simply asking for their neighbors gold and silver. We’re about to see why. Would you lay your blessings before the Lord if He asked? It’s all His, a blessing of His hand anyway.
The Tabernacle will be a meeting place where the people can dwell with God, and the people can address their sin under The Covenant. EVERYTHING is very specific, according to Gods blueprint, exactly! It’s all a picture of how we approach God, on His terms, not ours. The Tabernacle and the atonement process is a picture of our privilege to come to The Father, and enter into fellowship with Him through The Blood of The Lamb, The Savior Jesus - ONLY. It’s a very specific process. Gods way! Only one Way! John 14:6 There is no other way.
Don’t let anyone convince you there are lots of ways to get to heaven. Scripture is clear. As you read these passages, try to wrap your mind around the detail. Let it remind you of Gods goodness and graciousness to us through Jesus.
Love you all! Dig in!
