Exodus 13

Good Morning “Blessed byThe Promises of God.”  Today we are in Exodus 13.

God is always faithful to keep His promises.  By observing the “Passover” the Nation of Israel, His chosen, were saved.  In remembrance they were to forever consecrate their firstborn sons and sacrifice their firstborn animals to The Lord.

As they journeyed toward the Promised Land, God led them - as a pillar of fire at night, and a pillar of cloud or smoke by day.  Imagine that scene.  After witnessing the power of Gods wrath and being spared themselves, they are now being led in this way, out of their lives of captivity.  What do you think they were thinking?  What an incredible sight.

Imagine being among them.  Some 600,000 men alone - so likely 2 million people - maybe more.  Dragging with you all the wealth of gold and silver, willingly collected from Egypt… and God directs the Long way around - toward the Red Sea.  At what point do you begin to wonder how you’ll cross?   Where is He going?  What is the plan?  Is there a ferry across?  Will there be snorkels?

Our God is unchanging.  He still leads every step we take -  now from the inside.  His Holy Spirit Who dwells within us leads us along His path - according to His plan.  He leads through the wilderness, with danger all around - yet He protects us.  Psalm 23.

The question is, will we follow?  Are we so intent on Him and our relationship with Him that we are sensitive to His Spirit in us leading?  Or, are we so distracted and intent on the world that we forget He’s even there?

Love you all!  Dig in!  Know Him by His Word!
