Good Morning “Recipients of Grace.” Today we are in Genesis 43.
As we continue with the story of Joseph we get to see an incredible picture of Gods Grace with us. No only did Joseph spare his brothers when they came back to him, but literally paid the price of their life saving grain. As Jacob had already made clear, without it all of Israel would have starved to death. Gods plan to bring all of Israel to their knees through suffering has worked. A picture of the tribulation as I pointed out yesterday. Demonstrating even more Grace, Joseph invites them to come in and dine with him.
“I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Revelation 3:20
Joseph has them seated in order from youngest to oldest. How could Pharaohs Governor possibly have known how old they were? To test their hearts, he makes sure Benjamin gets a huge portion of food - Five times the others. Would the brothers display their resentment of Benjamin? Or have they grown? We too face regular testing from The Lord. How does He find us?
The ultimate purpose for Joseph’s grace is reconciliation. Sound familiar? Judah has demonstrated that his heart is changing by telling Jacob he would be responsible for Simeon. Will the others soften too?
You’ll have to keep reading. Love you all!
