Revelation 12

Good Morning “Soon to Be Rejoicers in Heaven.”  Today we are in Chapter 12.  In chapter 11 we moved into the mid-Tribulation period.  Chapter 12 is the next mid-tribulation chapter and with it a new piece of our puzzle for what seems to happen during the 2nd  3 1/2 year period.

“A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.” Revelation‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We know this isn’t a real woman because John says she’s a “sign”. Gen. 37:9-11 tells the story of Joseph interpreting dreams. Together with Jeremiah 3:8 we come to the conclusion that “The Woman” is the nation of Israel, and Jesus the Messiah her offspring.   Regarding the “eagles wings” and protection is her - we have multiple promises throughout Scripture of Gods protection of Israel throughout the Tribulation.

The Dragon - also a sign not a real dragon but in fact Satan.  Some suggest at this time he will have authority over or influence 7 world leaders over 10 kingdoms or territories. Hence - Ten horns and 7 crowns.  

“Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.” Revelation‬ ‭12‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

They were not strong enough!  They will not, cannot win!

“The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.” Revelation‬ ‭12‬:‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This is not the original fall of Satan with 1/3 of the angels but a kicking out, banning of Satan and those angels from heaven.  The evil one has until this point still reported to God in heaven.

There is rejoicing in Heaven by all who dwell there for Satan is no longer there.

He’s so bent, he goes after Gods people, Israel, with a vengeance - knowing  his time is short.
