Revelation 4

Good Morning “Soon to be Raptured.”  Today we are in Revelation 4.

Ever worry about “End Times” events?  I mean, we are about to get into what could be some pretty scary verses in Revelation.    However; if you know Jesus, and you know The Word you should have peace knowing what He has said to be true.  It is absolutely true that things are going to get ugly - very ugly.   The World will face 7 years of Tribulation.  It will be a last chance for non-believers, Jews and Gentiles to turn to Jesus.   I do not believe we will be here.

Remember what Jesus said to the faithful in the church in Philadelphia?

“Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.”  Revelation‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We see the Rapture, that time when Jesus returns in the clouds and we are “caught up” (Harpazo in the Greek) with Him described here…

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.”

Did you catch the announcement?  The Trumpet Call?  John writes about it in Revelation 1 after describing the beginning of what “He has seen”.

““Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen. On the Lord’s Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭1‬:‭7,10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

In Rev. 1:19 He’s instructed to write what he “has seen”, what “is now”, and “what happens after.”  In Rev. 1 he describes what he has seen.  In Rev 2 and 3 he writes what is now to the 7 church’s. Then, we get to Rev 4.  Check out how it begins… “after this”.  He’s about to write about what must happen “After”.  After what?  After the “Church Age”.

“After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.””
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭4‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Come up here”… sounds a lot like Jesus, with Trumpet call of God, beckoning John up -evidenced by the next verse.

“At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it.” Revelation‬ ‭4‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV

I believe John just experienced the Rapture - through his vision.   What he will now describe in detail is what happens after.

Love you all!  Dig in!  Have confidence.  Paul told us in 1 Thess. 4:18, after describing the Rapture - to “encourage each other with these words.”  Why would we be encouraged if the Rapture doesn’t happen until after the Tribulation?
