1 John 5

Good Morning “Eternal”.  Today we wrap up Johns first letter with Chapter 5

In closing John reminds us that Gods love should compel us to repent.  True love for God results in a changed life.  With the Holy Spirit we have overcome the world, and all of its evil.

These believers struggled to believe Jesus came in the flesh.  Remember they believed the flesh was evil.  As we get to verse 13 he discloses the reason for his letter.

“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Do you ever wonder if you are truly saved?  Did you pray the right prayer?  Walk the right isle, have you been baptized?  That’s NOT how it works!  Those things are only demonstrations of what has already happened in you heart.  Confirmation of Salvation is easy, “Do you believe”?  If your belief is true, your life should reflect it.

He will never leave you or forsake you!  Heb 13:5  Nothing can separate you from His Love.  Rom. 8:38-39. He is forever in you and you in Him.

He desires to live through you so check it out:

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

He doesn’t promise to answer ridiculous prayers, but those that we ask according to His will!  How can we possibly know the will of God?  Know Him!  Spend time with Him.  Dig into the Word.  Watch, and acknowledge His work - then join Him in it!

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

With Him - you got this!  Dig in!  Love you all!
