1 Peter 4

Good Morning “Faithful Stewards of Gods Grace.”  Today we are in 1 Peter 4.

If you are like me, you have at times wondered what you were “here” for.  Why did God make me?  What is His purpose for my life?  What am I missing?

Peter continues to talk about suffering and our attitudes in the midst of it.  Right smack in the middle he reminds them / us to care for one another well, to use the gifts God has given us.  Does that seem an odd concern in the midst of suffering and trials? Absolutely not.  We need each other all the more when things aren’t bunnies and rainbows.  Even as it relates to sin… Remember James’ words “…confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” James 5:16

As encouragement Peter reminds them that this struggle will not last forever.

“The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.”
1 Peter‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

In the meantime we should be using what God gave us to Glorify Him.  Loving and Serving one another is paramount.  When we think of being used by God we often think of big “Parting the Red Sea” moments.  We’re ready to go all in for the “Big Stuff.”  But we forget, living faithfully is a series of simple, little, obedient tasks we often look right past.  We want God to use us to change the world, but have we made ourselves available to Him to change the block, or the classroom, the office?

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭

Jesus is coming back.  Seems sooner than later.  We are to continue, faithfully until His return or our passing.  What does that mean for you?

Love you all!  Dig in! Study this stuff for yourself.  Don’t be content with an appetizer, get into the full meal.
