Philippians 2

Good Morning “Jesus Minded”.  Today we dig into another jam packed chapter - Philippians 2.  We could spend a month right here - dig in check it out.

Paul starts out by telling the Church in Philippi - the Retired Roman Soldier church - If you have any encourage from being united with Jesus, be united together.  Get on the same page.  Jesus’ prayer in the garden the night of His arrest was for us to be unified.  Paul is charging them,  and us to do the same.  How do we get there?  Think like Jesus.  If we all put others first, we’re on the same page.

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”

(Self Love = Selfishness, doesn’t really fit with the mindset of Jesus does it?  Every moment, no matter what we are doing we must consider the people around us.  You before me!)

“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭3‬-‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Jesus (Fully God) came to serve!  He was above it but lowered Himself to it.  If He can lower Himself to serve us, if He can put His Godness aside, how can we possibly be too good for it?

From the beginning Satan set out to flip Gods plan on its head.  Back in the Garden Satan hit them with… “Did God really say”. Then he did everything he could do to stop Jesus from becoming obedient even unto death… for us!  Isn’t it interesting that we find ourselves living in a world that so promotes self… the opposite of Jesus example and teaching.   He’s still doing it, and maybe winning at it.

Am I wrong?  We live in a world that continually promotes self glorification.  We are so fixated on ourselves we literally cannot get past our stuff to properly love Jesus or others.  Sounds harsh, but it just is.

How can we get a piece of the mind of  Jesus?  We gotta be in The Word!  Then we gotta live it out, really experience Him living through us.

There’s a lot more here!  Love you all!  Dig in!
