Philippians 1

Good Morning

Today we’re digging into Philippians 1.

The church in Philippi began with a bunch of retired Roman soldiers.  Hard dudes!  Once enemies of The Way.  Once converted, they became some of Paul’s greatest supporters.  Paul begins his letter by thanking them for their faithful partnership in The Gospel, and reminding them that Gods not done with them yet…

“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Gods not done with us yet either!  He will continue to work in us to conform us to the likeness of Jesus until the day Jesus comes back for us.  We’re always growing if we’re humble and teachable.  Regarding Scripture and the things of God, a wise man once said - “The more I learn the less I know!”  He is beyond our understanding.  His ways are not our ways.  The more we uncover the more we realize we have just begun.

Don’t fall into the trap of believing “You’ve arrived”, or “At last you’re mature.”  Remember someone who has it all figured out isn’t teachable.  God requires a humble heart.  It’s often the younger, newer Christian that seems most proud of how far they’ve come and how much they know.  Some of the wisest, most seasoned, most Biblically sound people I’ve ever met - are also the most humble and as a result still teachable.  They are convinced they’ve only begun to understand God and His ways.

The wise one realizes more than anyone they need wisdom.   Do you see the correlation?

Never enough!  Keep digging!  Keep growing!  Love you all!
