Galatians 2

Good Morning “Crucified.”  Check out Galatians 2 today.

Paul dealing the issue of Justification reminds us in this chapter that we are justified by Grace through Faith in Jesus plus nothing.  Some were hanging on to their Jewish Customs and expecting converted Gentiles to live by them as well.

We all seem to have this innate desire to feel richer than, better than, more than, even more righteous than those around us.  We make our  lives look amazing to others who see them on social media.  Something about a nice car, a big house, nice things does it for us.  Our workouts, travel experiences, what we eat and even what we drink are posted and beckon “likes” from all who view.

Specifically Paul is dealing with those who, by their customs, elevated themselves above the new Gentile converts as more Holy or Righteous.  We tend to do the same… it feels good to feel better then - admit it.  Acknowledge your flesh is peaking through and it’s not good.

He’s checking them up in a big way, reminding them that it’s only by Grace that they are saved and justified.  It’s not of themselves.  In fact, if they have truly received Jesus their old self is GONE!  It’s ALL Him!

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!””
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

If the old us is gone, and it’s now Christ in us, living through us, why do we try to take credit for anything at all?  What if every part of our lives gave Glory to God as it should?

Love you all!  Dig in!
