Good Morning “REAL Gospel Receivers.” Today we start Galatians chapter 1
The church’s in the region of Galatia were similar to the Church in Corinth in that they too had begun to believe a corrupted, changed Gospel. In the time in which we live, making the Gospel, even God into what we want Him to be, seems to be common place. There is nothing new under the sun. We weren’t the first to do this.
“As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!”
Galatians 1:9 NIV
Check it out though, Paul makes a clear point here… the Gospel he preaches didn’t come from him. The TRUE Gospel of Jesus Christ did not originate with mens ideas - but Jesus Himself.
“I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.” Galatians 1:11-12 NIV
We don’t get to mess with, modify, or water down The Gospel to make it more acceptable, seeker friendly, less convicting, more inclusive or anything else! The Word of God, The Gospel of Jesus Christ is clear! We must choose to submit to it, and give our lives to Jesus or not… but we don’t get to make it more user friendly.
We must know The Word! Dig in!
