Matthew 19

Matthew 19

Jodi and Jason sitting in a tree… first comes love, then comes marriage…
We all know how it goes

“…for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Gods design for marriage from Genesis 2:24

Ok, so then what did Jesus say about divorce?  I don’t want to spoil that surprise read on and see for yourself.

Is it better not to marry?  Here Jesus has a Word about remaining single.  Paul taught a similar Word, no doubt repeated in 1 Corinthians 7.  He addresses staying single in 7:8

What’s it take to get to heaven?  A bit later in the chapter we read this:  “Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Illustrating that God wants our heart, Jesus asks the man to give up the thing that is most valuable to him - his money.  He wants our heart!

What do camels and needles have to do with money and riches?  Read on to find out.

With God all things are possible.

“many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭30‬ ‭NIV‬‬
