Matthew 9

Matthew 9

Matthew was a tax collector.  Tax collectors were the WORST - often demanding way more tax than was required so that they could keep some for themselves.  Jesus chooses and calls Matthew - no biggie.  Jesus can use anyone He chooses who’s willing.

Miracles, miracles, miracles.  This chapter is filled with miraculous healings!  Paralyzed man - no problem.   Unclean women bleeding for 12 years, no doubt cast out from her family as a result - no problem. Her faith drivers her to touch the hem of Jesus’ robe.  Boom, HEALED!  Dead girl… Not ANYMORE!  Couple blind guys and a demon possessed mute - PIYAAAAA!  Guess what happens?  I’m gonna leave it up to you to find out for yourself.  Dig in!

Having demonstrated His power throughout all the towns and villages, seeing the crowds of lost sheep - Jesus tells them this:
“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭9‬:‭37‬-‭38‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Guess what?  It’s you!  He doesn’t save us without a plan and purpose.  We are His tools.  The only question is are we willing to be used?
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Not everyone will be a Pastor or a Missionary - but if you have Jesus - you’re called to be a minister of the Gospel in whatever you do.  Matt. 28:18-20, Acts 1:8
