Good Morning “Cared For Every Step of The Way.” Today we are in Ruth 2.
Do you believe in luck? Good luck? Bad luck? You know Biblically there is no such thing as luck, only Gods sovereignty and providence.
Things aren’t looking great for Naomi and Ruth. Without husbands in that time meant no one to care for you. Ruth sticking by Naomi’s side was a likely life sentence of struggle. Their very existence would depend on what they could glean, what they could scavenge, and beg for… or would it?
God had a plan all along. In this passage, we see that every little detail matters. Why did Ruth choose to glean in Boaz’ field that day? Did she see someone she recognized? Was she in the neighborhood? Whatever the apparent reason, the REAL reason was because God had ordained it!
Ruth demonstrated faith when she chose to stay with Naomi, and God was about to demonstrate His faithfulness. As you read through the book of Ruth pay attention to every little seemingly insignificant choice Ruth makes. Nothing is insignificant, but instead - a part of Gods orchestrated plan.
How does that all work… us making choices that miraculously fit into Gods plan? We appear to have some ability to choose contrary to His will, yet His plan is not dependent on or limited by any choice we make. (Jeremiah 29:11, Isaiah 55:8-9, Prov 16:9, Prov 16:33, Prov 20:24, Psalm 139:13-14).
BUT HOW??? Ha ha - that’s why He’s God and we’re not! He is unfathomable. That means we’re not going to figure Him out. Isn’t that ok? I know, at least I - am not that smart. Why would we worship a God we could figure out?
Love you all! Dig in!
