Good Morning “Those Who Serve The Master of Miracles.” Today we are in Joshua 10.
”The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them; I have given them into your hand. Not one of them will be able to withstand you.” Joshua 10:8
That passage pretty much sums up this chapter. As Joshua and his army conquer land after land. The victory is The Lords - working to fulfill His promise. Did you notice, as you read this chapter, how nonchalant the writer is as he simply mentions the miracles that God worked to ensure victories?
”The Lord threw them into confusion before Israel,... “vs 10
“…the Lord hurled large hailstones down on them…” vs 11
“So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies… The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.“ vs 13
Are you kidding me? Confusion in the opposing army… epic hail stones that kill more than the sword… Wait… the sun and moon stood still? A passage or two is all that the writer commits to these incredible miracles! Why?
1. I think because miracles are common place for God! No biggie! Just another day. He’s still the God of miracles as He fulfills His purposes. Maybe we’re simply too busy to catch them.
2. The Bible is not simply a book of miracles. That’s not the intent. Remember it’s One Story, from Genesis to Revelation. It’s The Story of God redeeming a lost world to Himself through Jesus. These are just the pieces involved in His doing that.
Stand in awe! Marvel at and Praise His incredible Power! Fear Him only! Love you all! Dig in!
