Good Morning “Life Choosers”. Today we are in Deuteronomy 30.
In this chapter God kinda summarizes what He’s been reminding Israel of. Basically they have a choice to make. Only two options - Life or Death.
“This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life…”
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NIV
Some Old Testament promises were for Israel alone and we cannot claim, however; many are reiterated in the New Testament for ALL true believers. This is one of those concepts. It’s not complicated. God created it all, and is sovereign over EVERYTHING, He holds it all in His hand, hence He gets to make the rules. There’s only two options and He loves us enough to let us choose. Life… or death.
”Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.“ Matthew 7:13-14 NIV
It’s easy to get caught up in the pursuit of things we think are important in this world.
”What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?“ Mark 8:36 NIV
We were / are, dead in our sin depending where we are at in our Faith decision. But we are made alive through Jesus if we will but choose Him, humble ourselves, and accept His payment for our sins. (Ephesians 2:1-8).
