Good Morning “Against All Odds.” Today we are in Deuteronomy 20.
Gods ways are not our ways! He can do amazing things through the underdog. He’s in the business of using the unlikely, the unqualified, and the under equipped. Maybe you’ve heard the saying “He doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called.” The concept is Biblical.
”When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you.“ Deuteronomy 20:1 NIV
I love this chapter. I am a living, breathing, example of what God can do through the unexpected. He simply called, I reluctantly said yes, then over the last 25 or so years He’s done the equipping. Not all at once, but rather as we’ve gone along! It’s been an incredible ride filled with the privilege of being used to love His people. All the glory is His!
Never underestimate Gods ability to use your willing heart! While in England DL Moody heard evangelist Henry Varley say, “The world has yet to see what God can do through a man who is totally yielded to Him.” Moody was captivated by these words and resolved, “By the Grace of God, I will be that man!”
May we all be that man or woman - totally yielded to The God of all creation! The world’s socks would be blown completely off!
“For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.”
