Good Morning “Those Who See With Eyes of Faith.” Today we are in Numbers 13
12 spies sent into the land of Canaan to see if it was fruitful and to see how strong the people who live there are. God is all knowing so by definition, He already knew. So… why spy? Why didn’t God just tell them what they were going to be up against? Seemingly a test - but what for?
Perhaps the assignment was more about teaching them about themselves and distinguishing leaders than it was to collect information. 12 covert spies got into the land. 12 return. All but 2 decide there is NO WAY! The people are huge, well protected and stronger than we are! Caleb and Joshua are ready to attack. “Let’s go take possession of the land for we can surely do it!”
What did Caleb and Joshua see that the rest did not? Were they looking at the same situation? In fact they were… they were just looking though different eyes. The 10 were looking though the eyes of the circumstances at hand. Caleb and Joshua… well they were looking through eyes of faith! God said He was going to give the land into their hands, and that was all they needed to know!
How do you look at the circumstances of life? Our God is all powerful! Able to do immeasurably more than we could ever ask or imagine! (Eph 3:20) What if we, and our lack of faith, is the only limiting factor?
Love you all! Dig in!
