Ezra 3

Good Morning “Excited for A New Day.”  Today we are in Ezra 3.

It’s a new day in Jerusalem and Judah is pumped up!  God used a once evil king to initiate it all!  Is it just me or is it pretty mind blowing where we find ourselves in Scripture today?  Judah has received another chance and the similarities and parallels to where we find ourselves as a nation today is more than “coincidental”.

There was much work to be done to bring back “Right” worship of The One True God in their nation.  The people responded!  It begins with the temple!  There is much work to be done to bring back “right” worship of The One True God in our nation.  The people have responded.  It begins with “the temple of The Holy Spirit” - The Church!

Judah was reminded once again what life apart from God was like.  70 years in Babylonian captivity - was enough.  Our nation has drifted, The Church in many ways, had been silent and irrelevant, unwilling to act as the salt and light we are called to be (Matthew 5:13-16).  I believe too, we’ve seen a picture of what a Godless movement in our world can look like.  Thank God for His Mercy and Grace and that we did not have to endure 70 years.

“…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles‬ ‭7‬:‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We, The Church are indeed called by The Name of Christ.   I believe we’ve been praying - That much is clear!  There’s been some humbling - we must continue humbly.  We have sought the face of The Lord this election and I believe He has answered with a new more Biblical leadership direction.   With it comes a new opportunity for us to truly stand up!  Will we, turn from our wicked ways, refuse to allow evil to reign in us and around us, turn from it and toward Him at a new level (James 4:7-8), and thus experience His blessing?

Judah got it!  Their humility was back, their brokenness real, their zeal and love for God and each other renewed, and with it a desire to LIVE ACCORDING TO HIS WORD!  Now the reconstruction begins!  Same same.

Love you all!  Dig in!
