2 Chronicles 29

Good Morning “Ready to Get After It.”  Today we are in 2 Chronicles 29.

Hezekiah is king of Judah.  He takes over and immediately gets to work.  He begins reforming the nation, starting with Jerusalem and the Temple. He  reopened the temple doors, renovated the Lord’s house, and reinstated worship of the One True God.

The text says he began in the first month of the first year of his reign.  He couldn’t wait to get started!  No doubt he had witnessed the fruit of living in a Godless society and he was over it!  He knew there was a better way!

Notice the parallel we see here.  His process was that of one cleaning up the Temple of The Holy Spirit - and returning to worship.  It’s the same process the believer must go through as we move toward reconciliation with The Father.

We first realize we no longer want to exist apart from God!  Rebellion to Him and His Word is empty (John 15:5). Then the doors to our heart must be opened to The Savior (John 3:16, Romans 10:9). Then the work of cleaning up must be started (Romans 12:1-2, James 4:7-8).  Out with the old and in with the new (Galatians 2:20).  No doubt other believers must be employed to help accomplish the tasks at hand.  God created us to support and encourage one another. (Hebrews 10:24). Study (Joshua 1:8), Pray constantly (1 Thessalonians 5:16-17, Philippians 4:6), serve and love others (Mark 10:45).  In the end… we must remain humble, realizing no matter how many people came together, no matter how hard they all worked - it’s all God working in and through us and them (Philippians 2:13)

“…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6

Why put it off?  The time is now!  Hezekiah understood the urgency!  Do you?

Love you all!  Dig in!
