2 Chronicles 18

Good Morning “Not so Lucky”.  Today we are in 2 Corinthians 18.

Good luck!  How many times have we said those words?  Someone has a job interview or is getting ready for a competition of some sort.  “Good luck”, we say.  Or… here I go, “wish me luck”.

I believe there are a couple applications we can draw from the story of King Ahab’s death.

God is not deceived nor can He be confused in His plan by our acting, hiding or tactics.  “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” Galatians‬ ‭6‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬
He will carry out His plan despite our best efforts to change His course.  It’s His plan - we would do well to consent to it and get on board.  How can we know it?  Remember Romans 12:1-2 lays it out as simple as any passage.

Ahab only accepted the good news from the prophets.  When Micaiah brought the True Word from The Lord, Ahab hatched a plan to make sure he would not be killed.  Ummm nice try.

A single arrow from an archer at a moving Ahab in a bumpy chariot, lands right between the armor plates of Ahab - delivering the death blow.  Wow!  Lucky shot!  Was it?

The angle of the shot, the wind speed, the feathers on the arrow, and the draw weight of the bow used by the archer who struck Ahab were chance variables to a human eye, but they were precisely calculated by God.

There is no such thing as “luck”, only Gods providence.  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.” Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Love you all!  Dig in!
