2 Chronicles 10

Good Morning “Inspired to Lead by Serving.”  Today we are in 2 Chronicles 10.

When God agrees to grant Solomon one request - he asks for wisdom to govern the people well.  When Rehoboam assumes the throne he inherits the advisors of his wise father.  So far so good. Rehoboam is met with a problem presented by the people.  He consults his father’s advisors… ok, makes good sense.  But then he consults the guys he grew up with.  Come on… who do you listen to?

The Bible is full of passages encouraging us to seek WISE counsel.  Like Rehoboam, God surrounds us with those who are wise.  Those who are grounded in The Word of God and are living It out.

How often do we really seek their advice?  How often do we hear their advice, but then seek other advice that better fits the desires of our flesh?  We can always find someone that will tell us what we want to hear.  The problem is what we want to hear is often not what we need to hear.

Rehoboam sought to lead by domination.  He saw himself as a great king - not a servant.

The Greatest Leader EVER - was Jesus.  He led by serving.  There is no better example of Servant Leadership than Jesus.  Check our Jesus Words to His Disciples:

“…You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles Lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭42‬-‭45‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Love you all!  Lead like Jesus!  Dig in!
