2 Chronicles 3

Good Morning “Those Leaving Nothing to Chance.”  Today we are in 2 Chronicles 3.

God is very specific and intentional in everything He does.  The mobile Tabernacle was to be constructed very specifically, and ministry done very specifically (Exodus 25-31).  The building of the Temple and Temple Worship - also, very specific.  Likewise, our growth, and worship of God - is to very specific in nature.  “Holy, Pure and Pleasing to Him” (Romans 12:1).  Not at all random, arbitrary or “la ti da” - but intentional.

As Solomon begins construction we are reminded of Gods intention right from the get go.  “Then Solomon began to build the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to his father David. It was on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, the place provided by David.” 2 Chronicles‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Perhaps Mount Moriah sounds familiar?  Remember the story of Abraham and Isaac?  “Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” Genesis‬ ‭22‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV‬

It’s generally accepted that these locations are one and the same. The location that God tested Abraham, and miraculously provided a sacrificial lamb - the same as the location of The Temple where Israel would bring their sacrifices and worship. What’s even more “coincidental”, is the location believed to be Golgotha, the place of Jesus Crucifixion, The Sacrificial Lamb of God, is just an arrow shot away as well - just outside the city.  Clearly this place has meaning and purpose.

One application for us… Everything with intentionality - especially our relationship with and worship of Jesus.  Everything with purpose.  As we grow closer with Jesus we can’t help but shout our love for Him from the rooftops.  As we love Him well His overflowing love in us spills out.  Love God - Love Others (Matthew 22:37-40).

Love you all!  Dig in!
