Good Morning “BOLD Followers of Christ.” Today we are in 2 Chronicles 2.
God promised to give Solomon wisdom, but he never promised to make him BOLD. Maybe when it comes to the God of all creation, who holds it all in His hands, who gives us each breath we take and can take it away as well… maybe being BOLD for Him is wise. What do you think?
BOLDNESS is inspiring. When someone stands strong in the midst of unlikely or insurmountable odds - it moves people to respond in kind.
Consider the fruit of Solomon’s BOLD request of Hiram King of Tyre.
“…Send me cedar logs…” 2 Chronicles 2:3
“Now I am about to build a temple for the Name of the Lord my God and to dedicate it to him…
2 Chronicles 2:4
He goes on to explain that this temple will be used to worship God. In addition he asks for all kinds of other logs, precious metals, and even servants and a skilled craftsman to work it.
Not too crazy of a request of a fellow king is it? Except, Hiram isn’t a fellow king - he’s a pagan king. Check out his response to Solomon’s requests…
“Hiram king of Tyre replied by letter to Solomon: “Because the Lord loves his people, he has made you their king. And Hiram added: “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who made heaven and earth! He has given King David a wise son, endowed with intelligence and discernment, who will build a temple for the Lord and a palace for himself.”
2 Chronicles 2:11-12 NIV
What? God is able to work through anyone, and use anyone, to reach anyone - even a Pagan king (Proverbs 21:1). Does this indicate Hiram became a believer? Who knows where these truths landed between his head and his heart but it’s pretty amazing he even makes the statement. Even more amazing the way God uses him.
Love you all! Dig in! Be BOLD for Jesus!
