1 Chronicles 29

Good Morning “Generous Givers.”  Today we are in 1 Chronicles 29.

Led by David, all of Israel gave to the building of the Temple.  They appear to be all in.

“Besides, in my devotion to the temple of my God I now give my personal treasures of gold and silver for the temple of my God, over and above everything I have provided for this holy temple:”
‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭29‬:‭3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

What a sacrifice right?  Ummm… not really.  It’s all Gods to begin with - ALL.  He blesses us that we in turn have, that we might bless others - and provide for the work of The Church (Proverbs 11:25).  David understood…

“But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.”
‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭29‬:‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Maybe you know someone like this.  Some of the wealthiest Christians I’ve ever known were also some of the most generous.  I once had a man tell me, “I’ve tested God in this.  Anytime I saw a need, I gave generously, out of love for Him and for the one in need.  I’ve tried to give it away.  He keeps giving it back!”

You can’t out give God (Malachi 3:10, Luke 6:38). There are many needs in our world today - that He would have us consider.  He could drop the solution from the clouds.  Instead He chooses to be glorified when His people, The Body of Believers take what they have been given: time, Love, labor, skills, gifts, and yes financial resources - and meet the need.

David’s generosity inspired a nation… yours could too.  It’s all His anyway.  Pray, consider, give where He leads.

Love you all!  Dig in!
