1 Chronicles 28

Good Morning “Workers With Endurance.”  Today we are in 1 Chronicles 28.

David lived and learned some hard lessons.  As he nears the end of his life, he’s doing his best to pass them on to his son.

“And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house as the sanctuary. Be strong and do the work.””
‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭28‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We’re reminded repeatedly throughout Scripture to be steadfast and sincere in our faith, and fully devoted to The Lord.  Why does God continue to remind us of the same things over and over?

He knows we’re in a battle, our flesh continually waging war against The Spirit in us (Galatians 5:17).  One day we feel solid, then the next the “evil one” reminds us of our fleshly desires and we stumble (James 1:14, Romans 7:15).  It’s a vicious cycle.  Having commanded us to be in The Word Daily, (Joshua 1:8) I believe God in His infinite Wisdom and Grace, serves up these routine reminders.

He sees past the show and weighs our heart (Proverbs 21:12).  Rather than rolling our eyes and thinking, “What, this again?  I get it live like Jesus, I know, I know!”  Consider… has what we know in our minds moved to our hearts and resulted in faith demonstrated by action?  As we grow, allowing God to build The Temple of The Holy Spirit (us), heed David’s words to his son.  They’re for us too.

Love you all!  Dig in!
