Good Morning “Soldiers for Jesus.” Today we are in 1 Chronicles 27.
1 Chronicles 27 documents various officers, military and civil, who were placed in position to lead Israel in battle.
We too are soldiers in an army. Although The Kingdom of God doesn’t necessarily rely on earthly military strength to advance its cause, (Depending where you live), we CAN draw a parallel to our work as followers of Jesus in the Spiritual battle we find ourselves in.
We have an enemy, the devil who prowls around like a roaring lion looking for who he may devour. Therefore; we are to be on guard - alert at all times! (1 Peter 5:8).
Ephesians 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”
No good soldier goes into battle without protective armor and his battle weapon. God has provided the same for us. (Ephesians 6:10-17).
We fight for the cause of Christ, we stand for Truth in a world that has lost sight of it. Like David’s army, we purpose to bring everything into subjection to our King - Jesus.
“Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.”
2 Timothy 2:3
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 “For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God. And take every thought captive to obey Christ.”
