1 Chronicles 23

Good Morning “Role Keepers.”  Today we are in 1 Chronicles 23.

David is growing old.  As he nears his death he makes sure everyone is reminded of their roles.  The Levites earned the role of keepers of the temple, and worship unto The Lord.  Specifically Aaron and his descendants were responsible for conducting the sacrifices.

We too each have roles to fill as men, women, husbands, wives, sons, daughters etc.  If we were “created for good work which God created in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10) then doesn’t it stand to reason that as God created us with purpose, He uniquely made each one of us with that purpose in mind.  Our role is a part of that.

Indeed we are all Gods children, valuable in His eyes - in all that He created us to be.
“So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3‬:‭26‬-‭28‬ ‭NIV‬

We dare not take the fact that we are equal in value through Jesus Christ to mean that we are interchangeable in our roles as men and women, husbands and wives.  Scripture could not be more clear on this issue.  Consider Ephesians 5:22-33, I Timothy 2:9-15

Furthermore in preparation for the “good work” we get gifts.   As we receive Jesus - we receive a Spiritual Gift or Gifts to better equip us for the good work He has for us - which since He is perfect will also support our individual roles.
(1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4:11-13)

To despise who God created us to be is to question Him as creator.  May that never be.

Love you all!  Dig in!
