1 Chronicles 22

Good Morning “Getters”. Today we are in 1 Chronicles 22.

David, the man after Gods own heart “Got it”… well, kinda.  He clearly understood, being in check with God was the way to go.  Albeit part of that lesson was learned the hard way.  Check out his words to his son Solomon as he nears his death.  “Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the Lord your God…”  1 Chronicles‬ ‭22‬:‭19‬ ‭NIV‬‬

He goes on in that passage to tell Solomon to begin building the Temple of The Lord so that he could place the Ark of The Covenant in it.  Nothing wrong with that… in fact God through Nathan told him that was going to happen.  However; there is a bigger greater point that David appears to have been missing.

God wasn’t just talking about Solomon when He said He was going to build His kingdom through his son.  Even the Lords prophesy is multifaceted.  Check it out…

“He is the one who will build a house for my Name. He will be my son, and I will be his father. And I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’”
‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭22‬:‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The only throne established FOREVER is that of The King of Kings, Lord of Lords Jesus Christ who is also the “Son of David”.
(Matthew 1:1, Revelation 22:16)

Furthermore - yes Solomon’s name means “Peace”, but the Prince of Peace was still to come (Isaiah 9:6).

God was speaking of David’s Son, Solomon’s Son, really Gods Son who would come from the line of David.  Jesus was coming, and upon His death, burial, and resurrection - The Holy Spirt, Who would ultimately dwell in the “Temple of the Living God” - the Body of Believers, The Church (1 Corinthians 3:16).

Love you all!  Dig in!
