Good Morning “Peace Experiencers.” Today we are in 1 Chronicles 18.
God always keeps His promises. He promised Abraham He was going to make from him a great nation and bless those who bless the nation of Israel and curse those who curse Her. (Genesis 12:3).
To that end, God gave David many victories. In turn David collected the spoils and dedicated them to The Lord. Later his son Solomon will use much of spoils in the construction of The Temple.
Consider the parallel here. The product of David’s battles / wars was used to build the Temple of God. We too face trials / battles of many kinds. James 1 tells us to consider it pure joy because God uses those to build us, and mature us. We are The Temple of The Living God (1 Corinthians 3:16). He uses the spoils / product of our battles to build us. Cool right?
Notice also that God brings the victory but doesn’t protect from the battle. The battle has value. David was a man after Gods own heart, yet God did not protect Him from the trials. Our relationship with God doesn’t promise protection from trials either. Instead what He promises He will never leave us during the trial (Hebrews 13:5) and He will give us peace in the midst (Philippians 4:6).
As we study together know that God never changes. Same same!
Love you all! Dig in!
