Good Morning “Heart Checkers”. Today we are in 1 Chronicles 16.
David sees that the Arc of The Covenant comes home! The celebration is REAL! David re-institutes daily sacrifices, worship and praise.
Given David’s sin, some have asked why God calls him a man after His own heart?
“That day David first appointed Asaph and his associates to give praise to the Lord in this manner:”
1 Chronicles 16:7 NIV
The verses that follow give us an indication. David appoints Asaph to give praise to The Lord in this manner… what manner… you have to check it out and let it soak in!
David’s love for the Lord is on full display. In fact someone should take these words and put them into a modern worship song or two or five. Wait… maybe it’s just me but these words sound familiar. Isn’t that an incredible point.
We’re still repeating many of David’s worship praises to this day. Perhaps David was called a man after Gods own heart because his depth of love for the Father transcended generations of both Jews and Gentiles. WOW, I don’t know about you but that’s convicting.
When I look in the mirror and check my own heart, I can’t help but ask… what parts of my heart will people remember for generations?
