2 Kings 8

Good Morning “Observers of Consequences… Good and Bad.”  Today we are in 2 Kings 8.

We start this chapter observing the continued Grace extended to the Shunammite woman.  You may remember the kindness she extended to Elisha back in 2 Kings 4, and then her subsequent blessing then… even getting her son back.  Matthew 10:41-42 has something to say regarding the care of Gods servants, and Gods little children.  Those who choose, from a pure heart, to care for those close to The Lord are themselves blessed.  Good choices = Grace filled consequences.

Contrast that with the rest of this chapter.  Everyone seems to yoked to Ahab in some way or another.  What comes of that?  Evil.  “Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” Become sober-minded as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭33‬-‭34‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

What a great reminder.  So easily we convince ourselves that we can dance with the devil and somehow not get burnt.  Thats deception.  “Become sober minded…” snap out of it!  Evil is contagious as we see throughout this chapter.

We must daily be reminded to choose wisely, who and what we allow to influence us.

Love you all!  Dig in!
