1 Kings 20

Good Morning “Recognizers That God Works EVERYWHERE, and is Intimately Involved in EVERYTHING.” Today we are in 1 Kings 20.

As you read today’s chapter did you find yourself shaking your head at the statement of King Arams officials?  “…Their gods are gods of the hills. That is why they were too strong for us. But if we fight them on the plains, surely we will be stronger than they.” 1 Kings‬ ‭20‬:‭23‬ ‭NIV‬‬

If you WERE shaking your head… was it up and down, nodding in agreement or side to side - scoffing at the ridiculous statement?  We laugh at the suggestion that our God isn’t intimately involved everywhere - yet isn’t that our default thinking sometimes?

For instance… is God concerned about World Wars?  The apostasy we see happening throughout the world?  World hunger?  Murder? Sure!

Is He concerned about the everyday little choices we make?  What we put into our bodies?  The words that come out of our mouths?  How we vote? The weather? Absolutely!  Yes to all!

God is God of ALL, intimately involved and concerned about every beat of our heart and breath we take (Isaiah 42:5).  “He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth; he sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.” Psalm 135:7   He holds the earth in its place (Job 26:7), yet feeds even the littlest of birds, and clothes the flowers with their beauty, and… gives us everything we need if we will but seek Him first! (Matthew 6:25-33)

Maybe we convince ourselves that God doesn’t care about the little things - because then we can allow our flesh to reign in those areas.  Maybe?  Remember it’s the seemingly insignificant daily choices that determine who, or whose we are!  “He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.” Luke 16:10

Love you all!  Dig in!
