1 Kings 7

Good Morning “Worshippers of The One True King.”  Today we are in 1 Kings 7.

Construction report in!  Today, we learn of Solomon’s palace, the palace of his Egyptian-born queen, certain government buildings, and of course, the Temple furnishings.  The faith required to continue, and the level of detail tells us more about Solomon’s character.

As a builder I find myself thinking deeply about the construction.  We are given a lot of detail, but are missing some huge engineering explanation.  The plans I’m left with in my head are incomplete.  It’s almost as if the writer wants to give enough information to learn something of the creator, but void of enough information to recreate the creation.  Perhaps if we were able to recreate it, our worship would turn to The Temple its self, instead of God.

If that sounds silly, hang on… isn’t that what we do when we place ourselves and our desires before God and His?  We worship ourselves - we are The Temple of The Living God.  We worship The Temple rather that The Temple Creator.  Perhaps, just like the writer left the melodies out of the Psalms - some detail was left out with purpose.

In a world full of awesome people which create awesome things and awesome  people doing awesome things it can become easy to put too much emphasis in the wrong place.  Gods creation is amazing, He’s universally revealed Himself to us through it!  The goal with it all, is that we turn and worship Him - in awe!

Worship The Creator only!  Not even His creation!

Love you all!  Dig in!
